Keeping an Eye on the G.O.P.

Opinion Poll of Self-Identified Republicans

The following poll information is taken directly from an interesting Daily Kos public opinion poll. MeanMesa originally encountered this on the Stephannie Miller Show (Stephannie Miller, KABQ, Albuquerque, 1350 AM, 7 - 10 AM, February 3, 2010).

The data presented in full on the link cited includes a generous additional demographic analysis, but for this short blog post, only the "all" portion is presented here. In the original poll results, "all" is dissembled into various other components such as "men vs women," "North-South-East-West," and others. Any MeanMesa visitor who might wish to see more will find the complete poll information by following the link:

Here is a recap of the poll results:

So, MeanMesa visitors, if you have noticed certain hill billies, bigots or other disgruntled illiterates skulking around Screamin' Annie's Hilltop Beer Hall and Hoochie Parlor -- complaining because they have no "place" in American politics -- kindly direct them to the Republican Party. Once there, they will be able to join like minded folk who think exactly as they do!

However, a note of caution might be in order. Under no circumstances should any person wishing to assist these knuckle draggers in this way mention anything which might be remotely construed to be fact or reality. Should some matter of this nature arise in your conversation, MeanMesa suggests a good, solid, dramatic burp to deflect the subject of conversation back to, uh, no subject.

If the few remaining hill billies and bigots not currently registered with the Republican Party can be repatriated in this manner, the GOP will be able to move forward, that is, advance from its current 19% of the electorate to something more reassuring to them, perhaps a whopping 21%.

It's usually better to have all of them gathered together.
